We collect limited information needed to make LikeFolk work smoothly and safely.

1.1 Account Information

When you sign up, we collect:

• Name or display name
• Username or handle
• Email address (for verification and login)
• Profile photo or avatar (optional)
• Age or confirmation that you meet minimum age requirements
• Default user location to show nearby & very close posts

1.2 Status & Reaction Data

When you post a status, Flash Story, or Flash Note, we store:

• The content you share
• Reactions you receive or give (count, timestamp)
• Engagement data (how people interact with your post)

We use location data in three ways:

• Default nearby feed - an approximate location to show nearby & very close posts.
• Flash Story and Flash Note reach - when you post one, you choose how far it travels: Very Close (2 km), Nearby (2–10 km), or City-Wide (10–100 km). We use your location only to determine who falls within your chosen radius.
• Public Location (optional) - business and vendor profiles can choose to display their location publicly instead of a proximity tag. This is off by default.

Unless you turn on Public Location, we never show your exact coordinates to others - only your proximity tier.

We collect limited technical data like:

• Device type and operating system
• App version and language
• General log information (IP address, crash reports, performance metrics)

This helps us improve app performance and prevent abuse.

• Operate and personalize the LikeFolk app
• Show you relevant nearby & very close posts
• Process payments for optional paid features like Flash Story and Flash Note
• Maintain safety and detect policy violations
• Communicate about updates or support requests

We may share limited data:

• With your consent - when you post publicly, enable Public Location, or purchase reach through Flash Story or Flash Note.
• With service providers - who help us with hosting, analytics, or payment (they must follow strict confidentiality rules).
• If required by law - to comply with legal requests or protect user safety.

Your content is visible only per your privacy settings.

You have full control over your LikeFolk experience.

• Edit or Delete: update or delete your posts anytime.
• Manage Account: delete your account and your posts will be removed from public view.

After deletion, some data may remain in backups for a short time for legal or technical reasons.

We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption, firewalls, and AI-based screening of photos, videos, and comments before they go live. However, no online platform is completely risk-free - please use LikeFolk responsibly and avoid sharing personal or sensitive information in public updates.

If you ever feel unsafe or experience harassment, please report it immediately through the in-app reporting tools or contact us directly.

LikeFolk is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below this age. If we learn a minor has registered without proper consent, we will delete that account promptly.

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide the Services and comply with legal obligations. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If we make major changes, we'll notify you in-app or via email before they take effect. The "Effective Date" always shows the most current version.
